True Meaning of Christmas
Many are facing hard times and struggles this year because of loss of jobs and home. Let us remember that Christmas is not about the most expensive gifts we can buy or how much money we spend. Christmas is about a baby called Jesus who came to be the sacrifice for our sins. He came that we might have life and have life more abundantly no matter what the circumstances of our lives. Let us return to the old days when people came and bowed before Him and offered Praise unto Him. Just as the three Kings rejoiced and were exceeding glad when they saw the Star because they heard that the Savior would come. They followed the Star until they came to the baby in the manger. They came and offered gold, frankincense and myrrh to the new born King. Let this be the year that we call out to Him and repent and ask Him to come into our lives. Where would we be without our Heavenly Father who loves us so much. Jesus loves you and He cares about you. Call out to Him because His word says, "They that dwell in the secret place of the Most High shall abide under the Shadow of the Almighty." When there is no money to buy gifts, give the greatest gift of all and that is to love others. It is Christmas, let us spend time with our loved ones and enjoy the Christmas season and talk about Jesus and His love for us. Remember, Christmas is about giving of ourselves and spending time with family and friends, but it doesn't have to cost us money or put us in debt. We can offer to take an elderly person to the store, we can bake cookies for the homeless, we can read a book to a small child about the true gift of Christmas, we can go to that one in our family that we haven't spoken to in years and show them love and mend the broken pieces. Love is unconditional and holds no grudges. This year in hard times let us reach out and love those who don't feel loved. Let us be a vessel that the Lord can use to touch others that somehow this year may be alone. Christmas is the gift of family and friends who love each other and look past each others faults and don't expect anything in return but love. Let us sing Silent Night, Holy Night and magnify the Lord. Merry Christmas to all and to all a good night.
