What is our mission and where is it? When we think about missions we think about giving money to support foreign missionaries or ministries and their work. Each of us has been given a mission field where we are to sow seed, and to pull up the weeds that choke out growth and destroy the crop so that fruit will grow. Each life that we come in contact with daily is a crop that the Lord has placed in our lives for us to lift up the Name of Jesus. As we walk each day let us ask the Lord to open the door for us to be mindful of the mission field He has set for us today. How many of those around us will be spending eternity in hell separated from Christ? We need a vision of the lost being tormented in hell because they did not come to know the Lord. Maybe it will take this to break our hearts and make us aware of the lives that are dying without Christ. Can you imagine on Judgment Day the lives that will be looking our way because we did not take the time from our busy schedule to stop and introduce them to Christ? We are coming to the close of this world and the harvest field is ripe but the laborers are few. The Lord has commissioned each of us to be busy about His work and to spread the gospel. God’s word states, “that those without a vision will perish.” Proverbs 29:18 How many around us are going to spend eternity in hell because we do not have a vision for the lost? As we walk through this weary land our mission should be to reach out to those we come in contact with daily. How many times a day do we lift up the name of Jesus to those we come in contact with? Do others see Jesus in us? When was the last time I lead someone to Christ? Have we asked the Lord to open doors for us to reach out to those that we come in contact with to share the gospel of Christ? Let us pray for the Lord to give us a vision and a sensitive heart to see those lives that are in need of being touched by the Master’s hand. Matthew 9:12 states, they that be whole need not a physician, but they that are sick. Jesus said in Matthew 10:8, “Heal the sick, cleanse the lepers, raise the dead, cast out devils: freely ye have received, freely give.” We need to get out of our comfort zone and touch lives that are bound by drugs, alcohol, perversion, witchcraft and violence. We need to love those that don’t feel loved! Greater love hath no man than that he lay down his life for his friends. John 15:13 When was the last time you laid down your life for another?
