Trust is a word that Christian faith is built on. When we come to know Christ as our personal Savior, we trust that He is God that He loves us and He died on the cross for our sins and has forgiven us. Thank God, when we put our trust in Him, He does not forsake us nor leave us. When I need a friend I can talk to Jesus because He is always there. When I need a shoulder to cry on He is there. I know when I put my trust in the Lord that He takes care of me because I am His child. Beginning, a walk of trust with the Lord starts with little baby steps and as our relationship grows with the Lord our trust grows. When have you ever felt alone but yet you felt the Presence of the Lord all around you in the midnight hour? How many of us have gone through things that we did not think we were going to pull through? But yet, we knew that our trust was in the Lord and that He was going to bring us through every trial, every test and every sickness and disease. When we think about trust we must think on the promises of God because these promises are for us. In God’s word it states, “To him the porter opens and the sheep hear his voice and he calls his own sheep by name and leads them out.” “I am the good shepherd and know my sheep, an am known of them.” “I am the door if any man enter in he shall be saved and shall go in and out and find pasture.” (John 10) In all of lives struggles there is one on whom we can trust and rely upon, because He promises us that He will never leave us nor forsake us. (Hebrew 13:5) His word states that all things work together for good to those who love the Lord and are called according to His purpose. (Romans 8:28) Thank God that our trust is in Him and Him alone. In Psalm 37 the word tells us, “Trust in the Lord and do good; so shall thou dwell in the land, and verily thou shall be fed. Delight thyself also in the Lord; and he shall give thee the desires of thine heart. Commit thy way unto the Lord; trust also in Him, and He shall bring it to pass.” The word goes on to tell us to rest in the Lord and wait patiently for Him. We are told in Isaiah 50:10…let him trust in the name of the Lord and rest upon His God. Let our prayer be “Cause me to hear thy loving kindness in the morning, for in thee do I trust, cause me to know that way wherein I should walk, for I lift up my soul unto thee. (Psalm 143:8) Let us trust in the promises of God as we walk each day! Who are you placing your trust in? I will say of the Lord, He is my refuge and my fortress: my God, in him will I trust. (Psalm 91:2)
