Satisfy

The definition of satisfy means to fulfill the desires, expectations, needs, or demands of a person; and to give full contentment.  When you read this definition how could we ever fulfill the desires, expectations, needs or demands of a person and make them fully content with life?   In Ecclesiastes we read Solomon’s account of his life and how all the things that he obtained did not bring satisfaction to his live.  Solomon was given much wisdom and knowledge but yet he was never satisfied even though he owned much.  We labor and toil everyday yet we are not satisfied.  There is always something else that we are seeking after.  When we look around us, we see many who are not satisfied with their lives.  Many are looking to fulfill their emptiness with material possessions, drugs, alcohol, riches and anything else that will stop that cry within them.  Vanity of vanities, saith the preacher all is vanity.  What does this tell us other than the only thing that can satisfy a man’s heart is to come to know the Lord as their Personal Savior?   At the end of our life we can take nothing that we have obtained with us, it will all be left to our family or for someone else to take control of.  If God is the only one that can satisfy our soul then we need to begin to Worship Him, Praise Him and Magnify His Name.  Only when we become satisfied in knowing the Lord will the things become distant in our lives.  We must be content in whatsoever state we are in. (Philippians 4:11) We must begin to tell others that Jesus will fill that emptiness within them.  Lay not up for yourselves treasures upon earth, where moth and rust doth corrupt, and where thieves break through and steal.  (Matthew 6:19) What will matter in the end is when we meet Jesus face to face!  Some plant, some water but God brings the increase.  When we become satisfied in knowing that we are God’s children, then can we be used in the harvest where many souls are empty to bring them the Good News that Jesus came to set the captive free and to satisfy their hunger.
