Do I have an attitude of thankfulness? What does it really mean to be thankful is it just being nice to others and appreciating the things that I have in this life? As I think on the word of the week, what am I really thankful for? I am thankful that the Lord has touched my life and given me a reason to live. I am thankful for the Blood of the Lamb that has cleansed my sins and washed me whiter than snow by His precious blood. I am thankful that Jesus came and gave His life for mine. I am thankful that I was once lost and undone without Christ but yet I was the one earthly reason that He came to be the sacrifice for me. God’s word tells us over and over to be thankful in all things. In Colossians 3: 15 –17 the word of God tells us, “Let the peace of Christ rule in your hearts, since as members of one body you were called to peace. And be thankful. Let the word of Christ dwell in you richly as you teach and admonish one another with all wisdom, and as you sing psalms, hymns and spiritual songs with gratitude in your hearts to God. And whatever you do, whether in word or deed, do it all in the name of the Lord Jesus, giving thanks to God the Father through him.” In Colossians 4:2 the Lord tells us to devote ourselves to prayer being watchful and thankful. How do I show thankfulness? Do I say thank you to others for the nice things they say or do for me? Do I forget to say those precious words “thank you?” Christ came and gave His life for each of us and I should always have an attitude of thankfulness toward my Heavenly Father. He has done so much for me that I will never be able to show Him how thankful I am for His precious blood and His wonderful grace he has bestowed upon me. Let me pray and seek Him daily with an attitude of thanksgiving and gratitude that He chose me to be one of His children. I have been adopted into the family of God and I owe my Father all the respect, love and praises out of a thankful heart.
